About The Study
The CHAMPS Study
The CHAMPS study is an acronym created by our study's team members using letters from our purpose. This study plans to advance HPV vaccinations among HIV positive adults. According to the NIH, nearly half of the adults living with HIV in America are over the age of 50 years old. The HPV vaccine is typically given to adolescents to prevent exposure to HPV related viruses prior to their first experience of sexual intercourse. However, in recent years multiple health organizations have encouraged adults between the ages of 26-45 to consult their providers about the benefits of receiving the vaccinations later in life. This study seeks to find the benefits of People Living with HIV (PLWH) receiving the HPV vaccinations to prevent further health issues.
